Everyone in Corrie Cowart's Dance on Camera class at Muhlenberg College shot and performed in this Weekly Rite. Thank you to all. It was very good to be your guest, and it is good to have you as guests! A class is a ritual. Let's see how this class "keeps doing" as its actions and images continue to resonate.
Reflecting on our talk: seems to me it's important to nurture and develop identities - but also to be willing to lose them, let them go. I mean this in terms of our own identities: "dancer," "artist," and also the things we do: "dance," "make art." The identity of dance, and performance, expands and contracts, shifts and aligns, complicates and simplifies. How could a moving art be a defined thing?
