On Our Way
I started doing daily dances in my living room about a year and a half ago. They were a way for me to focus in, be observant, be patient, wait -- then create. They have evolved as a regular practice, and it's been my intent to work these improvisations alone at home into a performance online. This idea of performing suits me these days. Here is the first, and I will be doing one a week. What you see is extracted from dancing for about 45 minutes -- usually the length of an album. It is a rite, I believe -- whatever that might mean (I'm eager to find out). My performance may sometimes be only words: writes.
I'm not going for good, here, or new. I am doing. With patience, we may find out what it does.
